'Run Raise Respond North East' from September 3'

International Entrepreneur Nigel Eastwood in association with North East Development Foundation (NEDF) announces 'charitable run' in North-East to support and showcase local entrepreneurship.
A highly acclaimed technology investor and International entrepreneur with strong ties to the North East will run for RunRaiseRespond Northeast, a charity run to promote and showcase Entrepruership in the North East covering four states � Guwahati, Shillong, Kohima, Imphal to raise funds to directly support local entrepreneurs and support flood relief activities in the North East.
"Run Raise Respond North East" will commence from September 3 and continue till September 10.The half marathon is opened to all participants.
Renowned boxer Mary Kom will also join the run in Imphal on September 10 .
The organisation underpinning this run is The North East Development Foundation (NEDF).
NEDF will set up kiosks at each location for start-ups to present their businesses to be considered for funding at the North East StartUp Summit to be held in Guwahati on November 24 and 25 .
Participation is opened to all individuals over 16 years of age.
MNet, one of North East's leading telecom companies is the key sponsor of the activity.
Dynamic Manipur is the local outreach partner for the event.
RRR Manipur will be flagged off from Imphal at 7 am.
The major proceeds from all the runs will be presented to the winning start-ups at the North East Start-up Festival to held in November this year.
The winning entrepreneur at the Start-up Festival will receive a share of the funds raised and will be given free mentoring for 1 year by Nigel and the wider team.
According to Dr Syed S Kazi, President of North East Development Foundation : "We at NEDF are excited to be supporting 'Run-Raise-Respond Northeast' to encourage start-ups and entrepreneurship in the region, as the Foundation has been working towards sustainable development in the region in key areas of livelihoods, entrepreneurship, information communication technology, youth empowerment and rural technology and this initiative is a step forward in the direction.

The event is organized by Lun Tonsing and Vijaya Eastwood.
Lun and Vijaya are women entrepreneurs originally from Manipur and keen to invest and participate in the opportunities they believe the NE of India can offer.
