Imphal, August 27 2016 :
With the average number of people undergoing diagnosis and treatment rising from 1300 to 1400 in the last couple of months, JNIMS would be opening seven more OPD counters which would make the total number of OPD counters 14 .
Speaking to media persons at their conference hall today, JNIMS Director Laishram Deben informed that seven new OPD counters would be opened on August 29 .
There would be separate counters for students, senior citizens and differently abled persons.
He then appealed to all the citizens to give constructive suggestions for development of JNIMS and improvement of its service.
Due correspondence can be made if the citizens provide their names, addresses and mobile phone numbers when they come forward with any suggestions.
Deben appealed to all 'outsiders', laboratory staff and medical representatives to enter JNIMS only during the time allotted for them.
As undue disturbances by 'outsiders' may hinder doctors and nurses from discharging their duties, a notice would be issued in this regard shortly.
The Director appealed to all the people to help JNIMS treat underprivileged people who cannot afford treatment due to sheer poverty.
He also appealed to all patient parties and attendants to keep the hospital campus neat and clear and abstain from littering garbage and waste materials.
Appealing to all Government doctors to discharge their duties sincerely, Prof L Deben said that due actions would be initiated in accordance to law if any doctor of JNIMS is found working in private hospital or clinic.
JNIMS is not inferior to private hospitals of the State and health care facilities available in neighbouring States.
People can access all the facilities available at JNIMS at minimal fees, he added.
