Oxygen plant equipment reach Imphal

Imphal, May 19 2021:
Equipment for the installation of oxygen plants at Churachandpur and Thoubal district and 10 oxygen concentrators have reached Imphal by air today.
The oxygen plants and the oxygen concentrators were brought from Delhi by an Indian Air Force (IAF) flight.
The consignment arrived at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at around 4.30 pm .
It was received by a team of high ranking Government officials led by Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte, Advisor to CM (Health) Dr S Ranjan, Khurai AC MLA L Sushindro, Principal Secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang, Special Secretary (Home) H Gyan Prakash and Imphal West Deputy Commissioner Th Kirankumar.
The two Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants are being installed with the assistance from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The Churachandpur oxygen plant will have a generation capacity of 200 litres per minute (LPM) while the unit at Thoubal will have a capacity of 100 LPM.
The oxygen concentrators are for distribution to different hospitals.
The Government has been putting in all possible efforts to ensure there is no dearth of medical oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the State, said officials.
