Thadou Students' Association (TSA) today has honoured 12 highest mark scorer students from Sadar Hills area in the HSLC examination, 2008 conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur and the Higher Secondary Examination, 2008 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur.
Each of the 12 meritorious students were honoured with cash reward of Rs 1000, citation and certificate during a felicitation function held at the jubilee hall of Presidency College at Motbung this afternoon.
Six of them were HSLC candidates while six others were the Higher Secondary students.
Ideal English School and HM Higher Secondary School have also been hailed as the best schools in Sadar Hills area for this year for producing the highest number of successful candidates in HSLC and Higher Secondary Examination respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA of Saitu Assembly Constituency Haokholet Kipgen who attended the felicitation function as chief guest, appreciated establishment of many good schools in Motbung area and expressed wished for healthy competition among these schools for producing good students.
Commissioner of Education (S) Shambhu Singh who presided over the function talked about the infrastructural development works being taken up by the Government in education sector.
ZEO Kangpokpi Ngahchong Kipgen, who attended the function as guest of honour, also spoke at the occasion encouraging the students to work hard.
