Imphal, March 25 2021:
The needs and requirements of Naoriya Pakhanglalcpa AC will be raised to concerned ministry to add in work programmes to initiate development work in the AC.
Ex-MLA and state executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh Rk Anand said this during an inspection of condition of roads and other projects in the constituencies along with media persons today.
He inspected the condition of worsening road conditions, the fate of the Urban Health Centre in the AC which has been completed but has not started functioning, condition of Waisel rivulet and Lairenjam Water Supply Scheme.
As a part of the visit, Rk Anand also interacted with locals at various polling stations in the Constituency and discussed their needs and requirements.
Speaking to the media, Rk Anand said the roads in localities of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai, Heinoukhongnembi, Mongshangei, Langpoklakpam Leikai, Chingtham Leikai, Ningthoukhongjam Leikai, Lourembam Leikai, Lamdong and Lairenjam Sabal are filled with potholes and dust due to negligence over a long time and the locals are now voicing for better road conditions.
He also added that the proposal has already been raised to the Chief Minister and Works Minister Th Biswajit to take up necessary actions.
He added that Waisel rivulet which passes through Keishamthong, Sagolband, Patsoi and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituencies is filled with dirt and alligator weed (Kabo Napi, Alternanthera philoxeroides).
The Government should take up a special initiative to clean and protect Waisel rivulet which falls directly into Loktak lake.
He alleged that during his tenure as MLA he had taken up various projects under NABARD and other agencies for Waisel rivulet, but his successor who was MLA for more than 3 years had made no attempt to continue the project or initiate new projects with similar aims, which he added was very unfortunate.
He also alleged that during his tenure he constructed a number of community halls during a time when the annual MLA local area development fund was just Rs 50 lakh and now that the fund has been increased to Rs 2 crore per year, his successor had miserably failed to take up development works in the AC.
His successor who was elected by the people to lead the AC and take up developmental works in the Constituency has left the people in dark because he was unable to perform the duty of MLA.
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC has been made a Constituency without any leader to guide because of his mistakes, added Rk Anand.
