Condolence over demise of former CM Nipamacha pouring in

Imphal, July 18 2012: The MLAs of Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) have condoled sad demise of former Chief Minister Wahengbam Nipamacha.

The party MLAs paid homage and respect to former Chief Minister of Manipur who was also the leader of the Party's Legislature Wing and pledged to follow his footsteps and fulfilled his dreams and aspirations.

President and party functionaries of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) have also expressed shock over the sudden demise of former Chief Minister of Manipur W Nipamacha Singh after a brief illness at RIMS Hospital yesterday.

During an emergency meeting of the party, the President and party functionaries observed a two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader, General Secretary of MPTC RK Shivachandra informed in a statement.

RK Shivachandra stated that unlike other political leaders in the state, Nipamacha had larger goals and commitment in his mind and heart for fellow Manipuris that the generation to come would cherish.

He was more than a former CM but a man of principle with a strong commitment for the welfare of his State.

His truthfulness and outspoken nature is a rare personality.

True politicians are remembered even after their physical absence and Nipamacha is one of them.

In his death, Manipur has lost a dynamic leader, noted politician and dedicated worker of the society.

The void created in his absence will be hard to fill in the near future, Shivachandra said, while conveying words of condolence to the bereaved family and praying for the soul of the departed leader to rest in peace.

The staff of Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Takyelpat have also condoled the sad demise of W Nipamacha.

A condolence meeting was held today during which the staffs remembered important role played by Nipamacha in establishment of IBSD at Imphal during his tenure as CM of Manipur.

He was also the first Vice-President of IBSD Society.

In a press note, Director (i/c) of IBSD Imphal, NC Talukdar informed that during the condolence meeting the staffs also prayed for peaceful repose of the departed soul in its heavenly abode and for giving strength to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.
