2nd Ingan-Ngai festival celebrated at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, November 04 2013:
Marking the end of a year and heralding a new year, the 2nd Ingan-Ngai festival was celebrated at Shekin Nuh Inn, Tamenglolng district Hqs with traditional fervour and gaiety today.
Organised under the aegis of Zeliangrongpui Naga Customary Research Society, the celebration was attended by RK.
Ragaisin, Chief Executive Officer of ADC
Tamenglong as Chief Guest and Guiliangliu Panmei, Social worker, as Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Ragaisin appreciated the activities of Zeliangrongpui Naga
Customary Research Society, which has been working for the promotion of culture and custom of Zeliangrong people and announced to grant a sum of Rs.1 lakh for the Society.

He observed that every creature created by God have their own history and called upon all the participants to thank God for the beautiful culture and custom of the Zeliangrong people.
With the coming of Christianity in Zeliangrong area, this beautiful culture and custom of the Zeliangrong people has slowly vanished.
If the missionaries of those days had advised our forefathers to pray to God without changing any of the culture and customs, then the beautiful culture and custom of the Zeliangrong could have been preserved, Rk Ragaisin said.
He also presented cash rewards to those who presented folk songs and blew the buffalo's horn during the celebration.
Guiliangliu Panmei; Thomas Kamei, Chairman ZB (M); Akhan, Chairman of DCDA Tamenglong and Disuang Pamei, Vice President of ZB (AMN) were also among those who spoke on the occasion.
