Raining on Fish Farming Technology kicks off

A three-day long fish farmers' training cum demonstration programme on Fish Farming Technology of Imphal East being organized by District Fishery Officer, Imphal East under the sponsorship of National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad kick-started from yesterday at Panchayat Bhavan Hall, Imphal East DC Office complex.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by K Saratkumar Singh, Director of Fishery Department, Government of Manipur as Chief Guest; Kh Memcha Devi, Addl Director of Fishery Department as President and Y Ibobi Singh, DTO, Imphal East as Guest of Honour.
Speaking at the function, K Saratkumar observed that training is necessary whenever one is going to start a new venture in any trade as this will help in meeting the set objective and added that fish farming is a highly profitable work but one need to adhere to its basic principle like timing and place.
He further said the training programe will help in generating self employment and appealed the farmers to attend the programme wholeheartedly and make best uses of it.
A total of 25 trainees participated in the first day of the training cum demonstration programme.
