Pro-ILPS movement continues at different places

Showing solidarity to the ongoing pro-ILPS agitation, spearheaded by JCILPS, the Thang-Ta Artistes of Performing Arts and Culture, Keirao Bitra staged a sit-in-protest at Keirao public waiting shed today.
The protest was initiated by the Performing Art and Culture (POAC) Keirao Bitra in which the protesters put up placards which read, 'Implement ILPS in Manipur', 'Incapable MLAs and Ministers must resign', 'Stop the illegal influx of non-locals', 'Resist selling property to non-locals', 'Save the indigenous people and so on' .

Director of POAC, Louriyam Thaba stated that the State Government must not take the ILPS movement and its demands for granted.
It would not be wrong to say that the non-locals would be deciding the faith of the indigenous people of Manipur ten years from today, if the uncontrolled influx of non-locals in Manipur is not stopped on time, she added.
She alleged that the State Government has not taken up a single step towards the fulfilment of the demands made by the JCILPS so far.
On contrary, the State Police force thrashed the innocent student protesters during the agitation which was carried out by JCILPS Students' Wing.
On top of which many JCILPS members have been arrested by the State Police force, she added.
She maintained that a democratic Government should respect the public voice rather than resorting to force while dealing with the public movement.
Demanding unconditional release of the arrested members, she asserted that the JCILPS movement and agitations related to it, are for the protection of the indigenous people of Manipur and are not directed against non-locals or any group of people.
The Director of POAC also stated that the POAC would always support in all the steps that the JCILPS would take up to achieve its demand.
Meanwhile, the Meira Paibis of Keishampat Yumjao Lairembi also staged a sit-in protest under the aegis of JCILPS.
Meanwhile, Youth Development Organisation of Pallel Organised a general public meeting on ILPS at 8pm on September 15 at YDO Pallel DPO.

Various clubs, Meira Paibis of Pallel area and Pallel Bazar Board Committee attended the meeting and resolved to demand implementation of the Inner Line Permit System in the State, conveyed a press release issued by YDO.
Other resolutions included demand for suspension of Additional SP Y Victoria from her service, prohibition of entry of non-locals, who do not possess identity cards into Pallel area.
The meeting also resolved to support the JCILPS in all the agitations demanding ILPS implementation.
