United Clubs Organization of Bishnupur District demanded the Government to hand over the mortal remains of Gurumayum Jiteshore, Thangjam Satish, Thounaojam Prem, RK Ronel and Phijam Naobi, who have been killed allegedly by the Indian Army, to their respective family members so as to perform their last rites, said a statement issued by the organization.
In the statement, United Clubs Organization of Bishnupur District claimed that the failure of the Government to give a befitting punishment to the involved Indian Army personnel after the victims have been captured and remained traceless is an insult to the constitution of Indian Democracy.
The statement also alleged that north eastern part of India is ruled by the military personnel and added that numerous innocent lives have been lost and many have disappeared without any trace under the pretext of AFSPA 1958 in the State.
