2-day training programme of Education(S) begins

Education Minister Th Radheshyam inaugurated a two-day training programme of Education (S) today at multipurpose hall of SCERT Complex, Lamphelpat.
The programme is conducted under the theme 'Equiping the students to face challenges of 21st century education : Role of teachers & society' .
Speaking at the occassion, Radheshyam observed the training is an important part of the effort to develop the education system in the State.
He added that the training aims to equip the teachers with the latest updates of teaching and learning processes so that they could in turn facilitate the students according to the need of time.
He also spoke on the need to imbibe the students the ability to make good decisions and said students should be trained in such a way that they are able to make good decisions and be ready to face every challenge they face in life.
He explained the knowledge should be imparted into the ypung minds in such a way that they can analyse the pros and cons before taking a decision.
He said education is not about how much a student scores in his exam but about how one faces and solves his problems.
He continued any issue or problem we face today impacts the political, academic, economy, legal and social aspects of the society.
He said the younger generation has moved ahead in the use of technology and there is a need for the teachers and the older generation to catch up so that every one could reap the benefits of technology.
Observing that success of the training programme lies in equal participation of both the trainers and the trainees, Minister Radheshyam also urged the participants not to hesitate in raising any query during the training.
Parliamentary Secretary Education K Robindro Singh stressed the need to boost confidence of the young students.
He said many of our students seem to find it hard to face an audience or go on stage.
Teachers should help students in overcoming such difficulties and help in building their confidence, he added.
Principal Secretary Education (S) Vineet Joshi urged the participating teachers to make the training a participative programme.
