MEELAL to step up drive

The Meetei Erol Eyek Loinashillon Apunba Lup, Kangleipak (MEELAL) continued to demand evenly balanced of Meetei Mayek (script) and English words or sentences inscribed in all kinds of advertisements and other purposes such as billboards and hoardings.
On Thursday, MEELAL president Sadokpam Tomba once again made appeal to the public to inscribe Meetei Mayek just as the same English words or sentences used on all kinds of banners, billboards and hoardings and other sign boards in the state from
August 27 .
Tomba was addressing a press meet at the office of MEELAL, Season Market here.
He said MEELAL has also reached an agreement with all the owners of printing press, which are printing flex, to inscribe Meetei Mayek just as the same English words or sentences on banners, sign boards and, billboards and hoardings.
MEELAL will continue its drive against all advertisements, wall posters, banners and other sign boards that inscribed only the English language from August 27 onwards, Tomba announced saying using only the English language will not be allowed from this day.
After August 27, he appealed, no books should be published in multi-language style in the state and those books using different languages other than Meetei Mayek will be banned forever.
