Army conducts motivational lectures

In order to motivate the students of St Mary's School a "Know Your Army and Assam Rifles" motivational lecture along with weapon and equipment display was organized by Sajik Battalion yesterday, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
Students were quite excited to be briefed about various entry schemes through which they can join the pride of the Nation 'The Indian Armed Forces' as officers.
The two hour lecture and display was attended by 110 students.
This kind of display showing the pride of the Nation and glorious history of armed forces will certainly motivate the young and bright students and assist them in choosing a career in the armed forces, which poses a challenge to them with the motto "Do You Have it in You", it added.
In a similar endeavour, 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a lecture on women empowerment at Coy Operating Base Khudengthabi on yesterday to mark the Women's Day.
The lecture was attended by 37 local women and four children of Khudengthabi village.
The lecture brought out importance of women in the society.
Chairperson of village women society informed that women society of the village is making efforts for the improvement of the environment, in and aroimd the village by imposing restrictions/fines on males who indulge in drinking, drugging and domestic violence.
The women's society commended various projects being undertaken by Assam Rifles for the environment and the society.
In this event, women were enlightened about their rights in the society.
The function culminated with a healthy discussion on various other issues of the village over tea and refreshments served by Assam Rifles, it said.
