Imphal, April 05 2013 :
The All Manipur School Management and Development Committee Association (AMSMDCA) has expressed concern that certain districts have not released the funds meant for the mid-day meal and uniforms under SSA.
"Reliable sources informed that even as fund for a total of 150 days in different phases meant for mid-day meals under SSA had been released since early part of 2012, certain districts are yet to comply to the prescribed norms and as accredited according to different categories.
Before this office delves deep into the loopholes, this association warns the concerned district authorities to take serious note of the matter and release all pending funds related to mid-day meal scheme under SSA.
It is highly questionable on the part of Chandel district deputy commissioner as to why even a single coin for the same has not been released in his district till date," the AM-SMDC-A alleged today.
The Association then cautions that it is high time for the district authorities especially the deputy commissioner to expedite the releasse of fund for school uniforms under SSA for which fund has been released to the districts on February 5 .
"School uniforms are an indispensable part in students' life and as such delay in the release of the same would tantamount to violation of RTE Act, 2009.Concerned districts authorities may therefore act as requried in a prompt manner failing which implications may be heaped upon them.
All school headmasters may also co-operate with their respective district authorities in furnishing the specific numbers of their students' strength and other information as required for the expediency of the same," the AM-SMDC-A added.
