7 injured in gory knife attack in Churachandpur

Imphal, April 18 2011:
A knife attack on a group of people at Churachandpur's Upper Lamka last night has left seven people injured.
Conditions of four of them are stated be serious.
The seven were wounded when 22-year old Dongjathang son of Touangjup of Upper Lamka attacked a crowd at a music concert held at the YPR hall last night.
Police said they are investigating the attack that occurred around 9.30 pm when a quarrel erupted among the crowd.
Residents said that the youth who came with a knife attacked a group of people following the quarrel.
Four of the seven injured persons are currently in a "critical but stable" condition at Ccpur District Hospital with head injuries.
They were Thathong Langel (32), Manglienlun (25), Kamkhaumang (35) and Ginkhanlian (22).All are residents of Moulveng of Upper Lamka, reports said.
