Imphal, December 15 2011:
Unhappy over the failure of the state government to keep its words over implementation of the revised 6th Central Pay recommendations to the teachers, Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has announced its decision of teaching a lesson to the Ministers and MLAs of SPF government in the upcoming election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
In a statement, Convenor of Publicity of COTA S Gunamani said that the aggrieved teachers have restrained themselves from launching any sort of agitation in respect of the assurance given by the government as well as in the interest of maintaining the academic atmosphere.
But continued negligence of the government has compelled them to go ahead with indefinite cease work strike from today.
If the government does not issue an order to the effect of implementing the revised 6th Central Pay by December 20, the aggrieved teachers would teach a lesson to all the Ministers and MLAs of the ruling Congress led SPF government in the coming state Assembly election, Gunamani added.
