Newly posted Chandel DC visit remote villages

The newly posted Deputy Commissioner of Chandel, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum led a team of district officials and representatives of Chandel-based CSOs under the aegis of CNPO to the grief-stricken remote villages of Sulam area in Chandel district today.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chandel SDO Killu Siva Kumar Naidu, district medical staffs led by CMO Dr.N Birchandra Singh, Project Officer of DRDA Stephen and DPM, SSA Chandel Sh Mosaingam.
Presidents and Executives of CNPO led by Ws Kanral Anal.
Presidents and Executives of ANTA, SUR, LNKK, area chiefs, student leaders and special contractor HL Lovingson were also among others important leaders in the team.
On the occasion, a free medical camp under District Medical Mobile Unit/DDMU, NHM, Chandel district organized by District Health Society Chandel, awareness session of women Self Help Group in connection with observance of Anti-Malaria Month under National Vector borne Diseases Control Society was also conducted at Challong village.

During the camp, Retro Virus Screening and ultrasound besides free distribution of medicines for malaria, typhoid, dysentery and other ailments were distributed.
DACO & District Surveillance Officer Chandel Dr Kesho S Moirangthem, Medical Officer/ District Hospital Chandel Dr Y Nando Singh and HB Kobor were assisted by medical staffs present during the camp.
Taking the Tengnoupal-New Samtal Road from 0 point at Chamol, the Chandel DC stopover at Larong Khunou village where the villagers welcomed him.
The DC, on the request of the village Chief, assured the villagers of Larong Khunou for completion of their incomplete Community Hall and the water supply scheme.
Mosquito nets were also handed over after advising the chief to give it to pregnant mothers of poor families.
At Larong Khullen village, after hearing the grievance of the villagers, the DC said that the yet to be inaugurated Larong PHSC would be inaugurated soon.
The DC was also given a warm welcome at Darchol Village where the village authority presented a cock each to the DC and other officials as token of appreciation.
Vomku villagers too welcome the DC on the way and a short interaction was held during which he Project Officer of DRDA Stephen and DPM SSA Chandel Sh Mosaingam took note of the proposal.
On reaching the landslide affected Challong village, a reception service was organized there by the villagers before taking out inspection to the landslide area.
A memorandum seeking assistance from the district administration towards shifting of Challong village to a new site was submitted to the DC.
The village chief and public leaders who spoke on the occasion expressed confidence that the Chandel DC would bring better development in the district.
