Abduction of Horti officials decried

Imphal, August 11, 2013:
Protesting against the abduction of two Assistant Agriculture Officers (AAOs) of Horticulture Department over a monetary demand of Rs 50 lakhs by suspected Kuki militants, locals of Nongmeibung and Yaikul Janmasthan staged sit-in-protest agitations and demanded safe release of the abducted duo at the earliest possible.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the sit-in-protest staged Nongmeibung bazaar today, wife of W Ibopishak, who is among the abducted two officers, stated that kidnapping and abduction of her husband and M Priyokumar over monetary demand was very unfortunate.
She appealed to the concerned UG group to release them safely on humanitarian ground and in consideration of the grief and sorrow of their family members.
A similar, protest demonstration was also staged at Yaiskul Janmasthan wherein around 50/60 women protesters participated.
Protesters used placards and festoons demanding safe release of the two abducted officers.
