'Revive Mao potato farm'

As certain activities remained shut due to COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has begun identifying sites to create food banks under Horticulture project.
The three villages Song Song, Kalinamei and Robunamei have submitted a memorandum to the visiting Horticulture officials to revive the lost glory of Mao potato farm which is the 'first potato farm in Manipur' .
Ironically, an attempt to revive the otherwise long-neglected potato farm in Mao during crucial times draws a lesson to learn to protect and preserve potential assets of the Government.
Thankfully, it has been identified as one of the probable site to produce Horticulture products.
PHED Minister Losii Dikho and TD Minister N Kayisii along with Principal Secretary, Jt Secretary, Director, Jt Director of Horticulture Department accompanied by village leaders inspected three sites Mao potato farm, Maram Horticulture farm and Chilao.
Meanwhile, the locals of the three villages urged the officials to also upgrade the farm as a research centre.
