Imphal, September 03 2012:
The JAC which was formed against the mysterious death of Pangambam Rabi of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai after he went missing from his rented house in Chandigarh on August 29, has expressed suspicion over abandonment of Rabi after being killed.
Addressing a press conference in this regard at Manipur Press Club here today, Toijam Nandakumar, spokesperson of the JAC, disclosed that the left hand and leg of Rabi were found cut off from his body and marks of strangulation were also found in his neck.
His head also seemed to have been smashed with a hard object.
Though the post mortem report of the body claims that his hand and leg were bitten off by animals, the report cannot be wholly accepted, and since the Chandigarh Police were against transportation of the body to Manipur, some foul play in the killing of Rabi has crept up, Suresh said.
He also demanded a CBI probe into the incident.
He further demanded clarification from President of Manipuri Students' Union, Chandigarh over his statement asserting that there were no marks of torture on the body of Rabi.
