Imphal, March 01 2013:
Castigating the alleged threat and intimidation of Central security forces on the innocent villagers for the recent bomb attack by PLA on a patrolling party of 1/11 GR, the proscribed UG organization, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has categorically stated that fear should not be an obstacle in the ongoing freedom struggle of Manipur even though there are threats from Indian Security Forces.
In a statement signed by its Secretary Publicity Roben Khuman, RPF asserted that following the February 26 bomb attack by PLA at a spot in between S Kotlen and Torbung Bangla in which one GR personnel was killed while three others wounded, 1/11 GR personnel called up villagers in their camp at CCpur and threatened them with dire consequences if they do not hand over PLA cadres in hiding in their villages within a week.
"It is unfortunate that 1/11 GR has resorted to threatening the innocent villagers by asking them to produce PLA cadres if they do not want a massive search operation in their villages", Roben said, while asserting that this is an indirect way of using the villagers as Human Shield against the revolutionary organisations.
Roben observed that the ongoing war of freedom is not like a boxing match in which the two players fight inside a ring.
It is a war which may have collateral damages and civilian casualties occasionally.
However, it is not a right thing to kill or threaten innocent civilians intentionally in the name of collateral damages.
As for RPF, its armed cadres always keep in mind that there are no civilian casualties in any of its attacks on the Indian security forces.
But it has become a normal routine for the security forces to torture or kill innocent civilians whenever their personnel were killed in the attacks of revolutionary organizations.
Roben alleged that security forces have been trying to break the moral of the civilians and disintegrate the support of the people to the revolutionary organizations.
Besides killing, raping, torturing, threatening of people and mixing the culture and tradition with alien culture and tradition in their bid to liquidate the ethnic community of Manipur, the Indian Security forces and the Indian Government are also carrying out secret drug warfare to make the younger generation wasted and useless.
The statement further asserted that the reaction of the terrified villagers to the bomb attacks after the threat of the security forces is unfortunate.
Explaining how South Sudan became independent, RPF appealed to the people of the state not to fear the threats of the security forces since it is only through their collective strength that Manipur can regain its lost freedom.
People should overcome such fear and not let them to be an obstacle in the freedom struggle.
