Imphal, March 04 2013:
Expressing serious concern over involvement of invigilators in providing notes for copying to candidates in the ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, Vice President of DESAM M Angamba today announced that the student body would be disclosing the identity of such invigilators to the public.
Addressing a press meet at the head office of DESAM here, M Angamba informed that a mobile team of DESAM has found a teacher providing answers to candidates appearing in examination on additional sheets at Lamlai High School Center.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, Angamba said that DESAM would disclose the identity of such invigilators if found in future.
The trend of providing notes for copying to the candidates from outside the building had been successfully curbed
since 2002-03 .
However, use of unfair means inside the examination hall with the help of invigilators has increased significantly.
In such a situation, the role of invigilators is very important.
Only when they do their duty sincerely, the menace of using unfair means in the examination could be tackled, Angamba said.
He appealed to the security personnel posted outside the examination centres to allow access to DESAM volunteers as they have obtained permission from the Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of High Secondary Education Manipur for inspection of the examination centres.
He lamented that DESAM teams were denied entry at the examination centres of Uchiwa High School, Khangabok High School and N Tomchou High School.
