Manipur High Court to be inaugurate on March 25

Imphal, March 20 2013:
Two out of four Judges for the new Manipur High Court will take oath of office on March 23 to facilitate functioning of the High Court and Chief Justice of India, Altamas Kabir and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar will visit Imphal on March 25 to inaugurate the separate High Court of the state.
Four Judges each for Manipur High Court and Tripura High Court and three for Meghalaya High Court will take oath of office on March 23.The Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice, Government of India has issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification issued by Anil Kumar Gulati, Joint Secretary to the Government of India, the President of India has appointed former Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court Abhay Manohar Sapre as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
Gauhati High Court Judge Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswor Singh will cease to be Judge of the High Court from March 23 and become Judge of the new High Court of Manipur, the notification mentioned.
The notification further said that Gauhati High Court Judge T Nandakumar will also cease to be Judge of the High Court from March 23 and become Judge of the new High Court of Meghalaya.
On March 25, CJI Altamas Kabir and law minister Ashwani Kumar will inaugurate the Meghalaya HC in the morning and Manipur High Court in the evening.
On the next day, they will inaugurate the Tripura High Court.
