KSO threatens stir over pathetic road condition

Imphal, March 09 2018:
Kuki Students Organisation (Longpi Area) has expressed discontentment over the road construction under PMGSY in Tuilangkol area under Nungba sub-division in Noney district.
The organisation, in a press release stated that the ongoing road construction between Leikot to Gallon Part I under PMGSY packaged number MN 0796 of Phase IX commenced in the mid 2013 but still remain unfinished and no quality and improvement have been made till today.
It pointed out that some parts of the road are not motorable even in dry season.
The pathetic condition of the road is highly condemnable and it is against the guidelines of the Government, it added.
It further stated that numerous appeals have been made to the concerned contractors, sub-contractors and even to the SO for speedy progress to maintain quality in constructing the road and complete within the stipulated time but non attempt has been made to do so.
The student body warned of taking up different forms of democratic agitation if case the authority concerned fails to improve the quality of the road specially for the sake of the people of Tuilangkol area.
The concerned contractor should take sole responsibility for any untoward incident arises thereof, it cautioned.
Mention may be made that the road stretch from Nungba to Longpi via Leikot and to Gallon is the only road which connects the area to the sub-divisional headquarters.
