Special outreach programme on Swachh Bharat held

Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) Imphal, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India has organised a special outreach programme on swachh Bharat at Tribal market, New Lambulane today.
Station Director AIR Imphal Dilip Mayengbam, Administrative Officer ROB Imphal K Sonikumar Singh, Editor Sangai Express (Manipuri Edition) Khogendra Khomdram and Executive Engineer Bishnupur Municipal Council Sorokhaibam Noren Singh attended the event as presidium members and resource person respectively.
Saying that Swachh Bharat Mission under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has progressed, chief guest of the event Dilip Mayengbam appealed the public to keep their surroundings, schools, colleges, university, villages, towns and city clean.
With informed citizens and sweepers working tirelessly, Imphal city now has seen some improvement regarding cleanliness, he said.
Editor Sangai Express (Manipuri Edition), Khogendra Khomdram recalled that clubs and locals used to conduct social services to keep their localities clean.
After Modi became Prime Minister, the cleanliness slogans were turned into mass movement, he said.
He appealed people to have sense of cleanliness and advised them to shun habit of throwing things randomly anywhere and anytime.
He advised people to develop habit of throwing litters at the right places.
He urged the people of the area to keep the Tribal market clean.
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene are essential to attract customers, he said.
The dignitaries and gathering cleaned the premises of the market and held an awareness rally highlighting importance of cleanliness, health and hygiene.
