Imphal, July 18 2012:
Taking serious note over reported abduction of contractor Irungbam Irabanta of Nongdam Maning Leikai, who remains untraceable till date, Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has condemned the dastard act of the culprits, and said that it may well be assumed by all that Naga Society is conniving or conspiring together in remaining silent over this issue.
In a press note jointly signed by its President Pamreiso Raiping and General Secretary Ninglum KS, TKLI stated that their belated consolation words and condemning disappearance of the contractor may not be able to dampen the hearts of the victim's family or the JAC.
Terming the situation as most inhumane and unfortunate, TKLI appealed one and all irrespective of creed, caste or common identity to condemn such act and demanded for immediate release of Irungbam Irabanta.
TKLI is sick of such inhumanity and intriguing act which can tantamount to an ugly communal flare-up.
Meanwhile, TKLI earnestly appealed to the JAC to exercise restraints and patience in trying to solve an issue of such mammoth and complicated nature and defer decision of blocking Imphal-Ukhrul road from July 20 in the interest of the general public and peaceful co-existence that is hard-earned.
