AMSU inspects Machi High School

Volunteers of All Manipur Students' Union, Thoubal District Committee (AMSU-TDC) under the supervision of AMSU, Headquarters inspected Machi High School at Tengnoupal district, today.
A press release issued by AMSU-TDC said that the inspection drive conducted as part of its 'campaign for total education' was led by its Vice-president, TM Yashar Arafat.
Stating that the school building was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi and Education Minister, L Nandakumar Singh on December 4, 2006, it lamented that the school lacks proper infrastructure and the condition of the first floor is in deplorable poor condition for long despite assurance from the current Education Minister, Dr Th Radheshyam to address the issue during his visit at the school on April 8, 2018 .

Such treatment by the then as well as the current Governments toward the hill people might deteriorate hills-valley relation, AMSU cautioned and added that except the ground floor, rooms of the school are all inferior and are not suitable to run classes.
The school also doesn't have a proper toilet facility, it added.
Continuing that only 5 teachers (1 graduate and 4 primary teachers) are posted at the school which has 146 students, AMSU appealed both the State Government and authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
