Two buses to ferry stranded people of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC

Considering the plight of people from Naoriya Pangkhanglakpa Asembly Constituency stranded at parts of Assam and Nagaland due to Nationwide lockdown, MLA of the assembly segment, Soibam Subhaschandra has decided to bear all the expenses in bringing those stranded back to the State and arranged two buses two aid the activity.
MLA Subhaschandra flagged off a bus today for Guwahati to ferry those stranded at Assam from his residence at Mekola Bazar.
Speaking at the occasion, he said that many residents of the assembly segment are stuck at different States of the countries following the imposition of the Nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 since March 24 .
Many of them are in vulnerable condition and in need, he said while adding that he took up the initiative with a bid to assist the Government's work in addressing their issues and bringing them back home.
He continued that all the expenses of those stranded will be borne by him and the relief committee set up on account of the COVID-19 .
Those brought to Jiribam by train will be kept at a facility at Yaralpat for 2/3 days for necessary testing as per safety guidelines and related protocol before sending to different quarantine centres of the State, he added while maintaining that returnees from his constituency will be kept at a quarantine facility set up at Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang.
He also promised that he and the relief committee will extend all sort of assistance to quarantine inmates during their stay.
Later in the day, the MLA visited and inspected the quarantine facility being prepared at Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang.
