The surrender of the cadres of DHD(J) was made in the follow up action of the information of some DHD (J) cadres seeking asylum in Churachandpur area on September 18 last.
HQ 27 Sector Assam Rifles spread out its intelligence network to gain further information about the cadres on received of the information.
Detailed analysis of intelligence, meticulous planning and pro-active launch of operations resulted in locating the DHD (J) cadres, the statement added.
After having contacted the cadres, deliberate efforts were made by 27 Sector Assam Rifles to persuade the cadres to surrender.
While explaining them the benefits of surrender, they were made aware about the schemes of rehabilitation of the Central and State Governments.
This is the second surrender initiated by 27 Sector Assam Rifles, the statement said recalling that earlier also in the month of July, 64 SPLA cadres surrendered to Mizoram Government.
In both the surrenders, 27 Sector Assam Rifles has played a vital role to motivate the cadres and make them lay down arms.
