Before the finalisation of her proposed visit of the visit of congress supremo Sonia Gandhi has been deferred till the second week of December this year.
Sonia Gandhi was earlier scheduled to visit the state in the first week of November and to inaugurates the three multi-storey shopping complexes at the erstwhile Purana, Luxmi and New womens markets.
The visit was tentatively fixed on November 8 but it was deferred till December, a source in the MPCC office said adding that she may come between December 10 to 15, 2010.They cited as the reason behind the deferment to be the Parliament session.
Meanwhile, AICC Manipur in-charge Luizinho Falerio is arriving at Imphal tomorrow on a two-day visit to the state.
He is coming to inspect the three multi-storey market sheds, a market shed inside the Imphal Congress Bhavan at BT road and a tribal market which are all to be inaugurated by the Congress Supremo and UPA chairperson.
CM O Ibobi and MPCC president Gaikhangam are understood to have invited Sonia Gandhi to visit the state and to inaugurate the newly constructed women market sheds.
Following the invitation, Chief Minister, O Ibobi had inspected the progress work of the market complex two times.
Sources also said that the shopping complex in the Congress Bhavan is already completed and to ready for inauguration.
Hectic efforts are on to keep ready a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the complex which Sonia will unveil.
