Imphal, October 15 2010:
The Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF) has demanded a clarification or a rebuttal from the Government of India on the report of arrest of RK Meghen @ Sanayaima, Chairman of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) by Bangladesh authority and subsequently handed over to the Government of India within 24 hours.
The MAFYF in a press release said that MAFYF has nothing to do with the issue of RK Meghen's arrest and extradition from Bangladesh to India but the Government of India has to give a reply to the BBC news on which was based the report published in Indian newspapers including Imphal.
MAFYF accepts that the UNLF is the real vanguard of opressed people of Manipur.
Therefore, the people of Manipur, particularly his family members need to know the whereabouts of RK Meghen @ Sanayaima.
This is a part of the law provided by the constitution of India, the statement pointed out.
The MAFYF asserted that the state government should start tracing the whereabouts of RK Meghen as an urgent matter and issue a statement to the public.
The Front will not remain silent if the matter is clarified within 24 hours, the statement said and appealed to the people to support the missing UNLF leader to get justice.
