Imphal, May 22 2021:
Observing that there have been some mistakes in the protocol for Covid-19 positive patients undergoing home isolation in their respective homes, chief minister N Biren Singh held a discussion with officials concerned for monitoring home isolation patients by visiting their homes.
In a social media post, the CM admitted that there is need for rectification in the protocols for home isolation.
"As we noticed certain anomalies in the standard practice of home isolation, we will be intensifying the monitoring of home isolation patients.
Teams comprising doctors and other healthcare staff will now visit these households to check up on the patients, and so authorities concerned will closely monitor patients undergoing home isolation".
The government will also provide the patients with medicine and pulse oximeters, he assured.
N Biren continued that government is considering keeping people who do not have facilities to isolate themselves in their homes at Covid Care Centres.
The step is being taken in view of the rising number of cases despite enforcement of curfew.
If anyone has even little bit of suspicion that he or she is showing symptoms of Covid-19, they must get tested at the earliest.
Now test can be done in every district of the state, he added.
The CM mentioned that if any support is required in connection with Covid-19, public can contact Covid Control Room and for any assistance for positive patients undergoing home isolation Chief Minister's Covid Grievance Cell can be contacted.
N Biren also interacted with home isolation patients through video conferencing to understand their inconveniences and grievances on Saturday.
Talking to them, the CM said that the interaction session would continue every day at 7 pm till all the patients are covered.
He said that it was held to understand their grievances and how they are actually feeling and what they expect from the government.
N Biren said that as a person, who had already been infected by the virus earlier, he can assure everybody that the disease can be cured within 14 days if it is detected early and treatment begins immediately.
The CM urged them not to panic and fight the virus with a positive mind.
At the same time, N Biren cautioned that people need to be careful and strictly follow SOPs because many have fallen prey to the pandemic while many are undergoing treatment.
N Biren further said that many have recovered from home isolation treatment.
However, considering people's apprehension, proper monitoring of home isolation patients had already been intensified, and different measures have been put in place to ensure reaching of medicines and pulse oximeters to patients on time, he added.
The chief minister noted all their grievances and assured them of instructing the officials concerned for early necessary action.
CAF and PD minister Th Satyabrata, State Planning Board deputy chairman L Rameshwor, advisor to CM (Health) Dr S Ranjan and principal secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang were also present during the interaction session.
