Police constables' bandh called off

Kangpokpi, February 17 2018:
The 48 hours total shutdown in all hill areas of the State imposed by the All Manipur Hill Areas DPC Completed Re-Recruitment Candidates of Police Constable, Male 2016 (K Jayanta Singh) Batch was called off today evening.
The 48 hours bandh was called over the non-declaration of the results of the candidates by the Government.
Many vehicles were stranded at Mao gate this morning as a result of the total shutdown which had partially affect the National Highway 2.Some vehicles were also reportedly damaged along the Imphal-Dimapur road this morning near Daili village, Sapormeina area and Motbung area in Kangpokpi district.
The delegates of the All Manipur Hill Areas DPC Completed Re-Recruitment Candidates of Police Constable, Male 2016 (K Jayanta Singh) Batch reportedly met the Chief Minister this afternoon.
However, the outcome of the meeting could not be ascertained till now.
A late press release signed by convenor Haopu Touthang and president Binoy said that the bandh has been called off in public interest.
The outcome of the meeting held was not mentioned in the press release.
Earlier, Haopu Touthang, spokesperson of All Manipur Hill Areas DPC Completed Re-Recruitment Candidates of Police Constable, Male 2016 (K Jayanta Singh) Batch had said that the Chief Minister has assured them that the final result of the DPC will be declared after the inquiry report which was to be submitted within two months.
