Village authority clarifies on RNYOM general election

The Maha Kabui Namching Village Authority has clarified with respect to a news item that RNYOM General Election was held at Maha Kabui Namching Village on October 7, 2020 .
That written permission was sought from the Poubi R Naga, Khullalpa of Maha Kabui Namching village by Kilongdi, chairman, election commission, RNYOM and L Simon, secretary, election commission, RNYOM on 02/10/2020 and 03/16/2020 to use the village ground for the election of RNYOM.
The Maha Kabui Namching Village Authority in a statement signed by its Khullakpa (chief) Poubi R Naga said upon written requests from other Rongmei Civil Organizations including RNPO, RNCM and others besides the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the Khullalpa of Maha Kabui Namching village refused permission to use the village grounds for the election of RNYOM to L Simon personally on October 5, 2020 and again on October 6, 2020 .
On October 7, 2020 some people gathered at the village ground purportedly for the election of RNYOM at around 10:00 am.
However, the Khullakpa along with the members of the village authority and other members of the village took stalk of the situation and dispersed the gathering, the statement said.
"No such election of the RNYOM was held at the village ground of Maha Kabui Namching village as reported.
It is further clarified that there is no such person by the name Gailanchung Kamei in Maha Kabui Namching village let alone Khullakpa of Maha Kabui Namching village," it added.
