Imphal, December 06 2012:
Appealing for safe release of the two labourers of HVS Brick Field, Patsoi, who have been held captive over monetary demand of Rs 1.5 crore by KCP (Lamyanba Khuman), a sit-in-protest demonstration was staged at Khumbong bazar today.
KCP (Lamyanba Khuman) has reportedly demanded Rs 1.5 crores from owner of HVS brick field and to exact the amount the armed group abducted two labourers of the brick field namely Hawaibam Suresh (22), s/o H Tomba of Khaidem Awang Leikai, Patsoi and Jallauddin (27) of Halakandi district, Assam in the evening of November 24 last.
H Mema, mother of H Tomba, while speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao on the sideline of the protest demonstration, stated that it has been 12 days since her son and Jallauddin have been abducted by KCP (Lamyanba Khuman).
But their whereabouts is still unknown.
Making monetary demands to HVS brick field and abducting the two innocent labourers is not the right thing to be initiated by a UG group, which is supposedly fighting for a cause.
Another protestor cautioned that such trend of abducting innocent people by UG groups would not be helpful in the long run, and appealed to the UG group concerned for safe release of the
abducted labourers.
