17 teenagers rescued

Imphal, April 16 2016 :
17 teenagers who were reportedly to be taken to
Tamil Nadu on the pretext of job were rescued
by Sekmai police station OC and his team today, reports our correspondent.
All the rescued teenagers are now under
the protection of Child Welfare Committee
(CWC), Thoubal.
CWC, Thoubal chairperson Kh Jitendra
said that the teenagers accompanied by two
women namely Atom Inao Devi of
Langmeidong and Yaikhom Sandhyarani of
Pangaltabi were rescued from Imphal-
Guwahati passenger bus by Sekmai police
team.
The teenagers are mosly between the age
of 16 and 17 and reportedly from Wapokpi
and Pangaltabi.
They all will be soon handed
over to the Juvenile Justice Board.
