Jual Oram calls for all-round, equitable development in Manipur

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram on Wednesday called for a concerted effort to bring about all-round and equitable development for all.
The minister was addressing a flag hoisting-cum-public meeting in support of Prahai Marung, a BJP candidate who is contesting the forthcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) polls from 23-Nongmaiching in Waithou Phunal Maring under Senapati district.
The function was organized by the 23-Nongmaiching ADC Election Committee BJP, Manipur at Phunal Maring Playground.
Jual Oram stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party is an unbiased party which treats all communities equally with respect.
"Let's make a concerted effort to bring about all-round and equitable development for all," he urged the gathering.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed NDA Government at the Centre is committed to taking up more developmental projects for the country to take the country to a higher level.
"The Government needs people's support" .
The minister sought support for BJP candidate Prahai Marung for the ADC polls slated for June 1.There are six ADCs, which have 144 seats, in the five hill districts of Manipur.
Leaders of 23-Nongmaiching constituency later submitted a memorandum to the minister urging him to take steps for road improvement, construction of a community hall and establishment of a trade centre in the area.
State BJP chief Th Chaoba, who was also present during the function, claimed that Chief Minister O Ibobi has never been to the historic Phunal Maring which is located en route to Thoubal district.
Chaoba claimed that the Ibobi Government has embezzled all money meant for construction of community halls, drinking water supply schemes, latrines besides looting all PDS items for the constituency.
Several leaders of Manipur unit of BJP also attended the event.
