389 screened at Mao, Jiri

Imphal, April 20 2020:
Although all the State's surface entry points have been closed to passenger vehicles, health workers stationed at Mao and Jiribam screened 389 passengers for COVID-19 today.
In tandem with the country-wide lockdown, all inter-State movements have been prohibited with the exception of goods trucks and oil tankers.
Nonetheless, a report furnished by Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, State Officer Dr L Tomcha said that 235 passengers were screened at Mao today and another 154 at Jiribam.
Meanwhile, health workers have been screening drivers and handymen of trucks, gas bullets and oil tankers at ISBT Khuman Lampak, Malom oil depot and Sekmai gas bottling plant.
Altogether 91 drivers and handymen were screened at ISBT today and another 27 at Malom.
On the other hand, 21 samples were tested for COVID-19 at JNIMS today and another four at RIMS.
All of them were found to be negative, informed a source.
