Rural industries to resume work

Trade, Commerce and Industries Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh has said that following a directive from the Central Government, industries based in rural areas of the State including all micro small and medium enterprises can resume operations from tomorrow.
Addressing a meeting with officials of the Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries and a group of entrepreneurs this afternoon, Biswajit said that rural based industries would be allowed to resume normal activities from tomorrow following the Government's announcement of relaxation in some sectors including industries from the complete lockdown.
During the meeting held at his New Secretariat office, the Minister instructed the directorate officials to submit all requirements of the entrepreneurs needed for resumption of the industry sector.
However, all concerned should not forget to follow the protocols and directives of the Government while re-opening their industries, he added.
Today's meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary Suhel Aktar, Director of Trade, Commerce & Industries C Arthur Worchuiyo, Handloom and Handicraft Director Lamlee Kamei and other officials of the directorate.
