Outreach training programme on Aromatic Oil Extraction held

Ukhrul, January 10 2021:
A 2-day outreach training programme on 'Aromatic Oil Extraction' was held at Huishu village, Ukhrul on January 8 and 9, 2021 .
At the event, Scientist Dr Raja Shekhar elaborated on comprehensive research-related activities of (IBSD) for supporting youth in the extraction of aromatic oil as a resource person.
He also spoke about the medicinal value of herbs and wild fruits found in the local forest region.
Dr Nanaocha Sharma, Scientist IBSD, expressed the business potential of the region on seeing the availability of abundant natural resources.
He also assured of providing 1 lakh lemon grass saplings to all trainees in March.
Another Scientist of IBSD, Dr Sunil Thora stressed on the tourism potential of the area.
The beautiful landscape and rich biodiversity can attract' many visitors from outside while Yaruingam Ningshen, Managing Director YRP encouraged the local youth on entrepreneurship.
Dr Chagmei Ningshen also spoke at the event.
Altogether 100 trainees from 6 villages including Huishu village, Poi village and Khamasom attended the two-day programme which was organised by IBSD in collaboration with Mikpingla Industries (MPI) and Ukhrul Hills Development Foundation (UHDF) .
