Meritorious students encouraged with awards

The Tekcham Sports and Cultural Organization (TSCO) has extended a warm reception to the meritorious students of Tekcham villages and encouraged them with various awards today at its ground at Tekcham Laibung Leikai.
The award function which encourages students who cleared High School Leaving Certificate Examinations (HSLCE) conducted by BOSEM and CBSE, in flying colours, is usually held on Patriots' Day every year.
However, felicitation for HSLCE 2020, was held today way behind schedule owing to COVID-19 pandemic.
Today's felicitation programme was attended by Soibam Kullabidhu Singh, Nominee Member of Langathel Zilla Parishad; Langpoklakpam Iboyaima Singh, Pradhan, Tekcham Gram Panchayat; Social worker Langpoklakpam Giridhon and Member of Tekcham GP Ward No 7, Maibam Tiken as presidium members.
Bikash Okram, son of Shyamchand Okram and Sangita Devi of Tekcham Laibung Leikai, who had the highest score in the HSLCE 2020 conducted by BOSEM was honoured with Thongram Yaima Singh Memorial Award on the occasion.
L Chanchaniya Devi from Tekcham Sabal Leikai and Ch Kabita Devi from Tekcham Mayai Leikai who were respective second and third highest mark scorers in the same examination were extended TSCO meritorious awards.
Meanwhile, Sonali Thongram from Tekcham Mamang Leikai, who was the top scorer in the HSLCE 2020 conducted by CBSE, was bestowed the Thongram Ongbi Keinahanbi Devi Memorial Award while Langpoklakpam Thoi Singh from Tekcham Laibung Leikai and Sayananda Singh Meihoubam from Tekcham Mamang Leikai, who were second and third highest mark scorers received the TSCO meritorious awards.
In the meantime, Meihoubam Priya Devi, daughter of late M Pritam Singh and M Surbala from Tekcham Mamang Leikai, was feted with an special award titled "Thongram Ongbi Keinahanbi Devi Memorial Award 2020 for The Child of Single Parent".
Teachers from Tekcham areas were also feted during the programme organised by TSCO.
