VAs bemoan NFSC rice price

The Village Authority Union, Tipaimukh Area alleged that they have been told to deposit Rs 3 per Kg for subsidised rice under NFSC, as against the rate of Rs 2.40 that was fixed by the Government .
Questioning the motive behind such move, the Union in a statement signed by secretary Mikloth and Chairman Ralkapthuom of the Union, said that the place being the remotest part of the State has been ignored or is a ploy to only serve the valley district .
The statement also alleged that the Deputy Commissioner, Pherzawl district of claiming a portion of the subsidised rice and duly deducting a segment ever since the NFSC rice have been shipped to Tipaimukh area .
Pherzawl being a new district, it had requested the Chief Minister to visit and enquire their plights but their request remains unfulfilled till date, leaving the State machineries there to act on their own whims and fancies, exploiting the system, the union asserted.
