Ukl/CCpur/Bpr, September 02 2019: Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamsom today launched Rashtriya Poshan Maah for Ukhrul district at DRDA Conference hall, Mini Secretariat office complex, Hamleikhong Ukhrul in the presence of SDO Ukhrul Charjit Gaur, AC Robert Longjam and DPO Tabitha Shimray.

DC, Ukhrul Joseph Pauline, who attended the programme as chief guest, administered the public pledges for Poshan Maah movement for Ukhrul district.

Speaking at the occasion, DC Ukhrul highlighted the objectives of the Central Govt and its visions for celebrating month long Rastriya Poshan Maah across the country.

He said that the entire month of September will be celebrated under the theme "Complementary Feeding" adding that it is an overreaching scheme for holistic nourishment.

He continued that Poshan Abhiyaan is a multi-convergence mission with the vision to address malnutrition with a targeted approach by 2022 and abolished malnutrition from the country.

Speaking about malnutrition, he said that it is due to lack of awareness, both poor and affluent families are affected by it and stressed on the need to educate people about balance diet by eating right foot for proper physical and mental growth of children especially children between 0-6 years.

He also informed that nutritional week calender is put in place for the district to provide and feed children with nourishment food at every centres through ICDS and appealed to the stakeholders including Anganwadi workers, Asha workers and helpers to reach out to every household on the importance of nutrition for children.

Later, the participants of the launching programme held a public procession that began from Mini Secretariat Office complex holding placard which read as "Fruits and Veggies on your table makes health stable", "Hand washing your insurance against contamination", "Breast feeding is not a choice, it's a responsibility" etc and culminated at women market at Phungreitang to show their support and personal commitment to partake in the movement for fulfilling the national goal to free malnutrition through Poshan Maah programme.

The launching programme of Poshan Maah was organized Ukhrul District Administration in collaboration with Integrated Child Development Services and Scheme (ICDS), Ukhrul.

CCPUR: Poshan Maah 2019, the National Nutrition Campaign Month for Pherzawl district was launched today by DC, Pherzawl Mannuamching (IAS) at DTC Hall, Tuibong.

The programme was held under the auspices of District Administration, Pherzawl in collaboration with ICDS, Pherzawl.

Speaking at the occasion, Mannuamching said that Poshan Maah is a holistic nutrition campaign to ensure a healthier future particularly for women and children.

She urged all the concerned stakeholders of Pherzawl district including health workers, DLOs to support the noble endeavour so that it achieves commendable targets.

The DC further said that various activities in connection with the month-long Poshan Maah have been lined up for the district.

Amongst other activities to be taken up included workshop; demonstrations on handwash technique, community based event, mass cleanliness drive and 'Poshan Rally' at AWC level, she added and maintained that campaign on organic food, fruits and nutrition are also lined up during this month-long programme.

Besides this, other activities at Block and Village levels have also been lined up, she concluded.

Zammuanthang, Swachh Bharat Prerak, MoW&CD said that the objective of the observance programme is to fight malnutrition in children and women.

He highlighted the need to spread awareness on malnutrition so that anemic disease is totally wiped out from the district.

The launching programme was attended by Thienlaljoy Gangte, ADC, Pherzawl and other DLOs of Pherzawl.

BISHNUPUR: The month long 'Poshan Maah' also termed as 'Mal-Nutrition month was launched by DC Neeta Arambam for Bishnupur Distrcit today at DC Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bishnupur DC Complex.

The launching programme organized by District Administration Bishnupur in collaboration with ICDS Project Bishnupur and Moirang was attended by DC Bishnupur Neeta Arambam as chief guest; District Family Welfare Officer Dr P Merajao as functional president and Distrcit Malaria Officer Dr Th Nabakeshor as guest of honour.

Anganwadi workers and helpers from Bishnupur CD Block and Moirang CD Block were also present in the launching programme.
