State Arm Wrestlers accorded warm reception

Athletes of Manipur Arm Sports Association (MASA) who brought home 20 medals, including 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 5 bronze medals from the 38th National Arm Wrestling Championship 2019 which was held at Gyalshing, West Sikkim from July 28 to 30 were given a warm reception at MDU Hall, Yaiskul Police Lane today.
The reception ceremony was attended by RK Shivachandra Singh, Convenor Act East Policy as chief guest; Samom Reeta Devi, Councillor Ward No 14 Yaiskul AC; Laimayum Inunganbi Devi, Councillor Ward No 18 Yaiskul AC and Ksh Tamma Devi, ZP Member Top Naoriya as guests of honour and Konsam Lanngamba, Advocate and member of MASA as functional president who also encouraged the athletes with presents, said a press release of MASA.
It may be recalled that M Bijana Devi (63 kg), Ph Naocha Devi (78 kg) and K Roshni Devi respectively won a bronze, a gold and a silver in the junior women's events at the championship while L Pusparani Devi (70 kg), Ksh Shanta Devi (78 kg) and Ph Naocha Devi (78 + kg) bag gold medals in their respective weight categories of the senior women's events besides Ksh Nandini bagging a silver in the 55 kg event.
Ksh Shanta Devi was also adjudged champion of the champion for women category.
On ther other hand, RK Mojesh Singh (63 kg) bagged a gold medal in the junior men's competition while Ng Thoisana (55 kg), Md Warjed (63 kg) bagged silver medals.
Th Yaiphaba Meitei also won a bronze medal in the 78 kg event.
Th Othello (63 kg) and Th Milan (90 kg) were able to win silver medals in the senior men's competition while H Dipu (86 kg) and S Shanta (86 kg) finished with bronze medals in their respective events.
Th Othello also won the third place title in the Master men (75 kg) competition while H Dipu managed a silver medal in the 90 kg event.
W Khomdonbi earned a silver medal in the Ultra Master event while L Premananda (65 kg) and Sarangthem Arun (70 kg) bagged a silver and a bronze medal in the disabled men's competitions.
Sarangthem Arun was also named champion of the champion in this category.
