AR recovers 90 radio sets at Khudengthabi

Assam Rifles in two separate operations recovered 90 radio sets from Khudengthabi check post, on September 1, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR It said that while conducting routine check of vehicles at Khudengthabi on Sep 1, a team of Assam Rifles intercepted a silver colour Maruti Van travelling from Moreh to Imphal at around 4 pm.
On carrying out a thorough check of the vehicle, 10 Radio sets of Baofeng, Model No � UV-8D were recovered from the possession of the driver, it added.
The arrested driver has been identified as K Jagdish Singh, s/o K Jugindro Singh (37) of Bramhapur Nahabam Bamon Leikai, Porompat, Imphal East, Manipur.
The statement further said that in the follow-up operation, the same team intercepted a white colour Maruti van travelling from Moreh to Imphal at around 4.45 pm .
On carrying out thorough check of the vehicle, 80 more radio sets of Baofeng, Model No � BF-888S were recovered.
The vehicle was being driven by K Nogdamba Meitei s/o K Binoy Meitei and was accompanied by one passenger namely Mohan Aggarwal s/o Radha Ballabh of Thangal Bazar, Imphal West.
All three persons along with the seized items were handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation.
