MoS (IC) YAS Kiren Rijiju arrives at Imphal

Imphal, September 02 2019: Union Minister of State (IC) for Youth Affairs & Sports (YAS) Kiren Rijiju arrived at Imphal today by a helicopter on a two days visit to attend the Aspirational District Programme under NITI Aayog.

The Minister of State was accorded a warm welcome at Imphal Tulihal Airport by the Chief Minister of the state.

The Minister of State accompanied by Chief Minister N Biren visited Chandel District, one of the 117 districts in the country selected under the Aspirational District Programme, and inspected various development projects in the district under the programme.

They returned to Imphal after the inspection.

Kiren Rijiju will visit National Sports Academy at Koutruk tomorrow morning to review the ongoing works being carried out there after which he will pay a visit to Sports Authority of India (SAI) North East Regional Centre, Takyelpat to inaugurate an artificial football turf inside the campus.

The visiting Minister of State will also visit the temporary National Sports University campus inside Khuman Lampak Sports Complex to review the condition at the site.

He will also review various other development works relating to sports being carried out in the state before leaving Manipur in the afternoon.
