Imphal, September 11, 2009: Similarly, the Indonesian soldiers had killed 60,000 East Timorese within two months in 1975 during their struggle for independence.

The figure was 10% of the total population of the East Timor.

In spite of the heavy casualties, the Indonesian soldiers failed to dampen the collective aspiration of the people.

Now East Timor is a free nation, the UNLF statement pointed out.

It stated that in its attempt to suppress the liberation movement of the Afghan, a one-time super power, Soviet Union had also suffered a defeat at the hands of Afghan freedom fighters.

The statement asserted that India which kept Manipur under suppression and 'the quislings' are sure to suffer similar defeats in Manipur.

It is only a matter of time.

India is trying to solve the Manipur-India conflict through military means forcibly, in order to prevent the resolution of the conflict through international statute.

Therefore, as long as India's military tactics continue, the killing spree unleashed by the IOF and their collaborators, the police commandos, will continue.

In such situation, there is no other option than to intensify the liberation struggle, the Central Committee statement asserted.

It observed that people come to know that the July 23 Khwairamband incident was a testimony to CM O Ibobi being the trusted collaborator of India's repressive measure.

He has betrayed the people to the IOF in the interest of pursuing his selfish end of accumulating wealth.

Crossing the limit, Ibobi has also used the police commandos as killing machines to eliminate innocents.

The statement charged, Ibobi and his police chief, the DGP, have killed over 500 innocents since January 2009 through their 'criminalised police' and the security forces.

The killings are being carried out at the rate of 2 persons per day.

There is no justice in the land, and no one to stop the liberty enjoyed by the police commandos, who take law into their hands, in arresting and killing innocents.

The statement observed, since the police officers used the police commandos in fulfilling their illegal interest, they themselves could not control the commandos now.

In short, Ibobi and the DGP have rendered the commandos into undisciplined 'criminal gang.' The Home Secretary of India, who came to oversee the situation, has also concealed the matter.

The whole world comes to know about the unflattering trends of daily extra judicial killings and fake encounter killings perpetrated by the police commandos since the Tehelka exposed the Khwairamband killing.

The incident tells the entire world about the killings perpetrated by Democratic India in Manipur, it pointed out.

The UNLF statement said, apart from these, Ibobi, in his efforts to secure his seat, tried to subdue the democratic movement of the people against the atrocities by shelling out tear gas canisters, smoke bombs, rubber bullets and even gunshots.

Leaders of the movement have been detained under NSA.

He even tried to suppress the freedom of the press.

It also alleged that Ibobi and the DGP have tried to prevent the eyewitnesses of the Khwairamband incident from giving their statement to the inquiry commission by threatening and even scheming to eliminate them through the police commandos.

The CM's statement that he would resign 'after establishing the truth' clearly tells his stands against the people of Manipur.

The July 23 Khwairamband incident has been condemned by major newspapers of other countries.

Even then the commandos have continued to carry on their crimes.

It also stated that the detention of an 11 year old Bidyarani by the police for 4/5 days in their custody was an indication of the challenge poses to the people by the state sponsored terrorism.

It is now the time to teach a lesson to 'immoral' police, the statement contended.

It observed, people have feared to venture out with expensive mobile phones keeping aside hefty amount of individual money fearing that they could be killed by the police commandos.

Some police commandos have collected money from the people forcibly.

These commandos have resorted to hurling bombs and firing gunshots at individual houses and media houses.

These were done in order to distance the people from the liberation struggle and to force the media to present a falsified story under duress.

People have known that the bombing incident at Chamber of Commerce Hospital on August 21 was a play staged by Ibobi, it said.

So far, the revolutionary parties have adopted as a principle not to lay hands on state forces.

What would happen if the revolutionaries do like the state forces did, would there be other gains than the increase of orphans, widows and sonless parents?, the statement asked rhetorically.

The UNLF doesn't want these things to happen to innocents.

Did the brethren, who are in the commandos, ever think of it?, it asked.

It is not that the revolutionaries could not kill the state forces and are spared for the same.

But they have to remember that they are not targeted because they are also considered to be a part of the society, it contended.

The statement tells O Ibobi and top police officers to know that the revolutionaries have enough strength to eliminate the police commandos at a given time.

If the people resorted to kill each others, the loser would be the society while the sole winner will be the government of India.

As such, the state police commandos should stop killing innocent people for the sake of the good of the society.

It is now the time for the police commandos to have a good think over it, the UNLF statement urged.

It further said, the state DGP has shown his 'criminal character' by giving misleading statement in the court, while also charging him of making derogatory statement.

Ibobi has also turned the Assembly into a killing platform by saying 'there is no other option than killing the militants.

Politically, his ministers and MLAs should also share the blame equally.

They do not know the likely consequent of running from pillar to post to secure the post of Ibobi by accepting hush money and their refusal to cooperate the people in their movement.

They are defying the sanctity of democracy by standing against the people.

Whatever, India would turn a deaf ear to the happenings.

Because, it is India's secret policy to repress the liberation movement by instigating killing among the people.

The government of India is giving awards to police personnel who have taken interest in killing their brethren.

The fact that Manipur has the largest numbers of 'Police Medal' recipients testifies it, it stated.

The UNLF statement called for the people to carry the agitation for the ouster of O Ibobi and his stooges, and the supporters, IOF, till the end.

The appearance of five white heads in front of the 'Kangla Sha' in 1891 was the answer for the liberation of the state.

The statement urged the people to strive to tell the world that the people of the state are peace loving.

And to show the world that failing to do so would mean that the people are the most unfortunate lots.

It reminded the people that out of the 1,500 total strength of the police commandos, the people can easily win in waging war of wood and sticks (Utoop Lan) by driving away 'criminal' commandos from their respective locality.

The statement also said that the 45,000 IOF personnel in the state would be faced by 15,000 revolutionaries.

It also urged the people to remember the war strategies adopted by womenfolk during the Seven Years Devastation under the leadership of Hirachandra while urging to remember the slogan 'we shall win'.
