Meghen on NE exodus : 'It was bound to happen'

UNLF Chairman RK Meghen has blamed the Government of India, saying that it has failed to serve the interest of NE people.
Talking to mediapersons while being brought to the NIA Special Court here today, Meghen noted that violence is happening all around the world and we must know that why it is happening.
He asserted that the so called exodus of NE people from various parts of Indian cities was bound to happen.
Incidents of harassment, molestation, rape and killing of NE people reflected the attitude of mainland.
Some politicians may claim that North East has a very special status in India.
But the truth is that the India Government has done nothing concrete for the welfare of this region.

The UNLF chief maintained that 'Unity in diversity' is one of the miscarried Indian slogans as India has failed miserably to bind together the diversified groups people including people from North eastern region.
Alleging that the Government of Manipur has been orchestrating fake surrender dramas over and over again to promote its profile in the eyes of New Delhi, Meghen questioned the rationale behind pulling up retired UG cadres to take part in such staged surrender dramas.
The UNLF chief also congratulated all the Olympians from Manipur who participated in London Olympic 2012 especially MC Mary Kom, who begged bronze medal in women's boxing (51 kg category) .
In all 18 arrested UG cadres of UNLF including Chairman RK Meghen were produced in the NIA special court today.
They have been charged under various sections of IPC and UA (P) Act.
