Housewife found dead at Konthoujam Lairembi Maning Leikai

Body of newly married woman has been found floating in a pond at her locality in the wee hours today.
The woman has been identified as Pebam Ningol Konthoujam Ongbi Renubala Devi (33) w/o K Dhaneshwor of Konthoujam Lairembi Maning Leikai.
Claiming that the incident is suspicious, a complaint has been lodged with the Patsoi Police Station by the family members of the victim's maternal home.
On the other hand, locals of Ngairangbam Mamang Mayai Leikai, which is the locality of Renubala's maternal home constituted a JAC in connection with the incident and demanded punishment to the culprit (if anybody involved in the death of the young housewife) .
Renubala is the daughter of late Pebam Kesho of Ngairangbam Mamang Mayai Leikai and was married to K Dhaneshwar of Konthoujam Lairembi Maning Leikai on January 31 this year.
Speaking to reporters, Renubala's uncle, Pebam Amu said, Renubala and Dhaneshwor entered wedlock through engagement this year although they had a love affair before their marriage.
Renubala was working as a teacher at St Edmund School, Ngairangbam before her marriage, which she left after her marriage, while Dhaneshwor is working at a computer shop at Khwairamband Bazar, he added.
Kesho said that Renubala visited her maternal house on two differnt occasions after her marriage and revealed to her maternal family that she could not sleep properly.
Meanwhile, Dhaneshwor, his younger brother and mother came to Renubala's maternal house at around 12.10 am today and enquired whether she came there.
As nobody could ascertain her whereabouts, both the families and local people were searching for her, Kesho added.
However, she was found dead floating in a local pond, located around 100 feet east to Dhaneshwor's house at around 3 am today.
Except a minor bruise on the chest, no other bruise mark was found in Renubala's body, Kesho said.
Although, Dhaneshwor's family insisted to perform last rite, family of Renubla's maternal home decided to inform the police about the incident and conduct a post mortem examination.
In connection with the incident, locals of Ngairangbam today held a meeting and constituted a JAC.
The meeting decided not to claim the corpse until a clue regarding the incident is established.
The meeting also resolved to initiate different forms of agitation if the Government fails to find out the culprit within 10 days.
Although, a post mortem examination was conducted on Renubala's body at RIMS morgue today, nobody came forward to claim the corpse till the filing of this report.
