Youth Alert Langthabal expresses gratitude

Youth Alert Langthabal (YAL) has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister, N Biren for his decision to change the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD) Minister.
In a note of gratitude addressed to the CM, YAL said that there were many controversies surrounding the former Minister including the alleged disappearance of huge quantities of rice from FCI godown in Dimapur, alleged diversion of rice quota of Pherzawl district which was brought up to the Assembly floor.
The issue dissipated only after the CM intervened and assured to conduct a proper investigation into the matter, it said.
A historic verdict was also served by the High Court of Manipur after many human rights organisations and individuals approached the Court over non distribution of rice, it recalled.
The former Minister had courted other controversies including falsifying an MP and unnecessary comments over border pillar issues, it said while adding that such events had let down the people of Langthabal Assembly Constituency.
Saying that the Chief Minister has taken up a good decision to drop him from the Ministry, it said and welcomed the new CAF&PD Minister, Th Satyabrata.
YAL also wished the Minister, on behalf of the people of the Assembly segment and expressed hope that he will perform his duty well and serve the people well.
